Meet Richard & Toni Schickel, Married Team, Shared Mission

As a husband and wife team from Marine families, Richard (Rich) and Toni bring decades of service experience into insurance. Their individual journeys through military service and law enforcement eventually aligned around one shared realization: families deserve better protection, clarity, and guidance.

Rich’s Journey

Rich’s life has always centered on service and commitment. He began his career in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, where he learned the meaning of honor, discipline, and adaptability. These values continue to guide how he serves families today.

After his military service, Rich spent more than 25 years in law enforcement, protecting his community with integrity and compassion. The role required empathy, calm decision-making, and a steady presence during difficult moments, teaching him how to truly listen and support people during life’s hardest days.

A turning point came when his mother asked for help with her Medicare coverage. Even though she was enrolled, Rich realized he did not fully understand Medicare himself. Determined to help, he immersed himself in learning it and discovered that while Medicare is not complicated, missing small details can cost families thousands of dollars. Thankfully, his mother’s situation worked out perfectly, and that experience changed his path.

In 2019, Rich began helping families with insurance while still serving in law enforcement. In 2025, he retired and transitioned into insurance full time. Today, he brings a calm, straightforward approach rooted in trust, clarity, and doing what is truly best for each family.

Toni’s Journey

Toni comes from a family deeply rooted in service and care for others. Two of her daughters have served in the U.S. military, while her third daughter serves her community as an emergency room nurse, providing comfort and lifesaving care during some of life’s most critical moments. That shared family commitment to protecting and supporting others is at the heart of everything Toni does.
She began her professional career in banking, where she learned the importance of accuracy, trust, and responsible financial care. She later worked in law enforcement as an evidence technician, a role built on integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
While building her career, Toni was also raising her family and managing a busy household, giving her firsthand understanding of how important preparation and protection are in everyday life. For years, she supported clients behind the scenes, making sure everything ran smoothly and families were well cared for.
Her path took a more personal turn after losing her mother to cancer. Because the illness progressed so quickly, no funds had been set aside for final expenses, leaving the family to face financial stress during an already heartbreaking time. That experience inspired Toni to become a licensed broker, determined to help other families prepare for critical illness and final expenses so they wouldn’t have to carry that same burden.
Today, Toni works directly with families, offering honest, pressure-free conversations and guidance rooted in compassion, understanding, and real-life experience. Her goal is simple: to help families feel secure, supported, and confident about the future.
